ID: 2017-036 A learning platform to create courses and organize other learning resources
Principal Investigator: Benjamin Mackley
This technology consists in a learning software platform that organizes learning materials such as quizzes and videos into concepts. The concepts can then be placed into a course. The courses are publicly available for anyone to use. Tools to facilitate use such as a video viewer, a quiz viewer, and QTI upload components. This is a web application, a Software-as-a-Service (SAAS).
The invention allows students to create their own courses to use for study purposes. There are no available applications that allow the creation of entire courses and the ability to search publicly crowd-sourced materials. This software is also a pedagogical tool to help students learn content through creating questions. It has learning tools interoperability (LTI) capability, making it easy to integrate with other learning tools, especially learning management systems (LMS).
