AUTM U.S. University Licensing Survey, FY 2005February 2007AUTM, the Association of University Technology Managers, published its FY 2005 survey results a little differently from past years. Universities are listed in order of the year their technology transfer or commercialization function was founded. BYU's Technology Transfer Office (founded in 1986) is listed as the 49th U.S. university tech transfer office started (out of 154). In size of research programs (research dollars) we are #140 out of 154 respondents. Again, BYU ranks high in results per million research dollars spent:

- 1st - Startup Companies Formed 2005
- 1st - New Patent Applications 2005
- 5th - License Income Received 2005
