General Information
This product allows athletes, coaches, and commentators in track and field to obtain accurate information on expected finish times based upon current race paces rather than average pace up to that point in the race. Currently, printed pages are the only approach used to predict finish times. These are cumbersome to look through and only work on average paces through that point without any consideration to paces that are changing throughout the race.
Coaches, athletes, and commentators will be able to use this at meets and in training sessions to obtain more detailed information that current stopwatches give. The information can also be stored as a text file so that it can be viewed after the event.
The Market.
Many stopwatches have been developed over the years. Today, global positioning technology allows for pace, speed, distance, and time information to be displayed. However, none of the watches currently available have integrated the idea of a predicted finish time. The idea of this program could be utilized and a predicted finish time could be displayed for track, road racers, and marathoners to know their expected finish time as the race progresses.
